The best technique is to drop them to the bottom and then use 3-10 slow lifts with a short pause off the bottom to get it vibrating on the lift and then as it glides back down on the drop it will often get hit. They can be worked fast or slow, but the Vertrex Max is has huge vibration at slow speeds making it highly effective for this technique. The Nomad Slow Pitch Jig Rods are designed specifically to work vibes and they feature a slightly slower taper rod and a tip with more backbone to impart more action to the vibe. Traditional soft tipped slow pitch jig rods are not ideal for working vibes.
